When I left my last corporate job in September 2018, I had no clients for the web design services that I was planning to sell! I just had six months of money saved and the "hustle" in me to get booked and make sales before my money ran out! So needless to say, I was in a pinch where I needed to book clients QUICKLY.

Here are the 3 steps I took to successfully get booked out with $2,000 clients in 60 days. By following these steps, I eventually became OVER booked with clients and I was able to raise my rates to $5,000 in only a few short months of selling my services, too!

I created a signature package + pricing.

Before quitting corporate to take my business full-time, I used to sell cheap one-off items and services, such as e-books, website audits, underpriced logos, underpriced photoshoots. And the most money I’d ever made from one client was $500 for a website design, which was still underpriced! I was doing a TON of work “side hustling” on my business in my free time over about three years with no money to show for it. I created a strong signature package to sell and priced it at a premium, so I'd be able to generate enough income to replace my 9-5 income.

Once I quit my job to take the business full-time, I knew it was time to become a specialist at one thing. I narrowed my offers down to ONE website design package and I priced it at a premium rate at $1,500, so I’d be able to make enough money to replace my 9-5 income. This made a HUGE difference because I was able to become the best at that one service, elevating the quality of my work and helping me attract more clients. And I was able to position myself as an expert at the services I was offering, even though I had limited experience.

After my first couple of clients, I raised the rate to $2,000 and I eventually became overbooked with $2,000 clients, so I raised my rate to $5,000, so I could work with fewer clients and deliver a better outcome to them.

By specializing in one thing and having a signature package like I did, you can position yourself as an expert at what you do, even if you’re a beginner! And when you price the package at a premium rate (over $1,000), you’re able to be profitable by only booking 2 or 3 clients per month!

I created an impressive client experience.

I knew having a great client experience was going to be important for me to successfully charge a premium rate for my services. That’s because if you’re charging more, clients typically expect a bit more from you in terms of your client experience and the quality of the outcome you’re able to provide.

So I was very intentional about learning how to create an organized and efficient client process to guide my clients through the process of working with me, step by step. This helped me justify the premium rate that I was charging. It impressed my clients and influenced them to send me more referrals, thus helping me grow my business faster! And it helped me successfully juggle multiple clients, so I could make enough money to be profitable without being stressed out with chaotic, disorganized client work.

I did aggressive social media marketing to get the word out about my services.

Since I was in such a time crunch to get booked out with clients, I knew it was SUPER important to get the word out to EVERYONE about the services I was offering. I created a social media marketing strategy that would appeal to my ideal clients and I started posting everywhere, from my personal profiles to business profiles.

My social media strategy consisted of my 3 C’s strategy: connection, credibility, and calls-to-action. I did the perfect balance of storytelling on social media to connect with the types of clients I’d want to work with — telling stories that would be relevant to them and help them feel commonality with me. And I showed off my credibility in the area I specialized in — web design — by sharing tips and tricks for websites. And I balanced it out with calls-to-action telling my audience I had a specific number of slots available to book for each month and encouraging them to schedule a discovery call with me if they were interested. I made sure to be consistent with how much I posted, showing up every single day!

This led to me being able get booked out — to the point where I was overbooked — in 60 days at my $2,000 rate! And I eventually raised my rates to $5,000 so I could work with fewer clients and serve them at a higher level. Just about all of my clients found me through the social media marketing I was doing and I worked with clients all over the nation from the comfort of home.

Getting booked out quickly can be done when you have a signature premium package to sell, you create a strong client experience, and you execute a strategic social media strategy to get the word out about your services.
